Monetizing your blog without taking away the readers.
Well, you might have noticed that I am trying to emphasize a lot from the past few days on conversion Rates for blogs. Let me define it again, conversion rate for other sites can be defined as the percentage of visitors who buy the products or services from the website. On the other hand, conversion rate for a blog can be defined as the percentage of visitors who convert into loyal readers of your blog, bookmark it in their browsers or subscribe to the RSS Feeds or in short, the percentage of visitors who have a positive impact on their minds at the first sight of your blog.
Now lets come to the main point which I want to talk about. Well, blogging is hard work ! A lot of reading and research skills, analytical skills are required to blog on a topic. Afterall, you have to provide extremely interesting and niche articles and informations to your readers right ? And inorder to keep yourself doing the hard work, and to reward yourself for the time you spent, you need to make some money from your blog too. And thats essential ! But the thing is you have to monetize your blog without reducing the conversion rate and increasing the bounce rate so that you make money from the blog while keeping the loyal readers hooked to it. Stuffing your blog with banners and adsense will only have a bad impact on the readers mind and many people might unsubscribe to your feeds. There are many ways to monetize your blog without spoiling the look and feel, like ReviewMe Reviews, Selling Text Link Ads, Selling Banner Spots, Adsense , Other Ad Networks and a few others. Some important points which you must think before monetizing your blog are -
1. Monetize with as many ways as possible. Remember the rule of thumb “Never keep all your eggs in one basket”. Monetize with many different ways.
2. If your blog is new, don’t look too much at adsense, as it may take away loyal readers. Increase your bounce rate. A lot of people will simply close your site when they notice so much adsense there. When you have developed a good amount of traffic, you may keep some small bits of adsense. Even then, don’t keep large blocks. Only small like 468×60 banner or Text Link Blocks work well.
3. You can use Text-Link-Ads safely, if your blog has got a nice number of pages and traffic. Its the easiest method to monetize your blog. The complete system is automated and all you need to do is submit the site to TLA, upload a plugin place a code into your theme. TLA will then sell links for you in the marketplace and add money to your account which is paid on a monthly basis. You can also sell links privately through paypal subscriptions but that is only when you do have access to advertisers.
4. Selling ReviewMe Reviews - A very good method to monetize your blog. All you have to do is, add your blog to reviewme’s website and they will list it in their marketplace where advertisers can find you and buy posts. All you have to do is review their products and you are paid. You can also do this privately through webmaster forums, but most of them will not pay you the actual value your blog delivers.
5. Affiliate programs - The number 1 money maker of the most successful bloggers. People have made fortunes through affiliate programs. Affiliate marketing means, promoting products and services of other companies for some commissions. Lets take the example of Aaron wall’s SEOBook. The book costs around 75$ when someone buys from their website. You can see a link to the website as a square banner in my sidebar right ? Now when someone clicks that banner, he is redirected to his website and if he makes a purchase there, I am paid a 25$ commission. Same with the hostgator banner you see on top. If someone buys any plan at hostgator, I am paid a 50$ flat commission. All you have to do is to find out great affiliate programs in your niche, get their affiliate links and place them on your blog/ website.
6. FeedVertising - If there are many people, who have subscribed to your feeds, then you can sell links in your syndicated posts too. Such links and banners will not be visible on your blog but those people who read the feeds can only see it. There are many people who only read your feed text, hence those banners and links will be only visible to the feed subscribers.
7. Use AuctionAds - A very good alternative to Google Adsense, but it will work only when you have a very good amount of traffic. The basic concept is to promote related producs on eBay. The ads look like adsense with a small image and when someone clicks the ad, he is redirected to eBay. If he registers on eBay or Makes a bid on some item, you get paid.

I think this should be corrected:
Bounce Rate should be decreased not increased.
