Don’t forget to answer emails from your readers regularly !

Well here goes a quotation, “It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice”. Most people are too much carried away by a small piece of success and fly too high that they forget the very ground they took off from. They forget the very visitors who click their adsense and make them money. Its not the webmasters who click adsense or read or blog or buy affiliate products which makes you money. Its the general internet surfer who makes you the money. Its they who spend time to read your content, your posts and they are the ones in whose eyes, you are supposed to create respect.

Some time back when i wrote some posts related to SEO, I got a email from one of my readers who asked me “I have started a blog but it doesn’t get traffic and i am not making money from it. Can you advice what i could do ?” A very basic question perhaps. Well I am professional Internet Marketer and i do have clients who pay me to give them advice and work for them on their websites. But still I did find time to answer his question out. He was a very newbie on the internet and it would be really difficult to make him understand the stuff, but i still managed to write out a paragraph in reply and atleast point him to some good articles are problogger and make him understand in simple polite language that its difficult for me to answer such questions always. He replied me very happily saying that yes he was satisfied with my answer and the resources i have given him and also told me that 80% of the emails he sent to people went unreplied.

Well the question which arises is what did I get from replying his email ? The answer is, a loyal reader of my blog and little bit respect in his eyes is what i gained and something more. I still didn’t forget the days when i was introducted to blogging and webmastering, when i made my first blogger blog and use to run around asking on webmaster forums, noob questions and starting threads like “What is a blog ?” , “How do i change my theme ?” … “Wow, I got my first adsense click. I made 5 cents wowow ! ! !” It was also the time when i asked many reputed and people questions and it happened to me that 90% of time, the emails were not replied.

I understand very much that its impossible to answer tons of emails like this but thats only when you are techcrunch or lifehacker and not to me and you. Answering emails fastly and politely and to the point is not a difficult thing when compared to the benefits it provides. More people knowing you, respecting you and following you and recognizing you as an expert. Moreover not only that, when they have a positive and a respectful attitude towards you, they will talk positive stuff about you to others also adding to your reputation !

So If you are a very popular guy, don’t forget to answer the questions from newbies and guiding them, even if it takes a bit of time for you, but it is definetely worth the time !

Interaction with your readers is very important, no matter how successful you are. The readers are the ones that are making your blog a success so answering their emails is the least you can do! Great post btw ;)
