SEOMoz Raises $1.25 Million from Inginition Partners
The best known SEO (Search Engine Optimization) firm (according to me ) has recieved an outside investment of $1.25 Million from a Venture Capital firm named Ingnition Partners. (Source of news : TechCrunch , SEOMoz). The didn’t disclose the actual amount of stake which was sold (A Small percentage according to them). Rand Fishkin , Founder - CEO of SEOMoz says that they will utilize the funds to invest in people, hire more good talent. According to the post on their blog, their main focus still seems to be on the premium content section. Rand and his team loves the section and they want to hire more people (as it appears from their post) just to create more content , eBooks and tools for the premium members on the site. Not only this, they will also be working to strengthen their services business as a whole. Market the services to a wider audience.

There is no doubt that SEOMOZ is a great resource for all things SEO but I’m kinda surprised by this. I’m not sure how many subscribers they have for their premium content section but their turnover must be large enough to justify this investment. It’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out.
