“iPhone is a revolutionary new mobile phone that allows you to make a call by simply pointing your finger at a name or number in your address book, a favorites list, or a call log.” (Apple Inc., 2007).

Apple has redefined the word “revolution” they have taken a drastic turn alright but this time for the worse. The company was successful in creating a hype around the their new product, by not allowing the phone to be reviewed before the sale, only to sell to the trusting customers, a product that is far inferior to its contemporary counterparts.

To begin with there is no removable battery. So if headed for the woods for a camping trip you might want to reconsider if this is the instrument you want to trust. Although , this is not the only feature of the phone that can be unreliable. The service provider for the phone is ATNT. I just have one thing to say here “what were you thinking?” This really makes me wonder if the company was considering the quality of product at all.

Just like their ipod, this phone has no expandable memory. Only 4-8 GB of memory is provided. Don’t worry you are not going to need all that space anyways because the camera does not allow you to take videos and since you cant send pictures (MMS) then there is no real reason to use this feature right? Plus there is no keyboard, no features for editing office documents and no options of exchange server. So it’s obvious that one will not be doing any business or school documentation here.

If you have superior fine motor skills, lots of patience and time, then you will love the beautiful touch screen. Although, this will ware out your screen pretty quickly. Other wise with the lack of voice dialing , WiFi and 3G (extremely slow internet), making a call or accessing net while multitasking like driving or handling kids could be quite a challenge.

The phone is a huge disappointment given the fact that it is an Apple product. But I would like to think that they mistimed the release of the product. It’s a few years too late.
